Teddy Edward
One evening very late we got a message from a friend saying that a little disabled dog about 10 years old had been taken into shelter after loosing his human. He was in a concrete pen and a plastic bed with no blankets .
Our friend asked if we had room for him at the retreat. Our answer was: " if nobody else is taking him then yes of course." Poor lad. He was taken out the next morning and put into foster ready to travel here and to be checked out and castrated. The vet found that he had a pin still in his leg from 4 years previous having a run in with a car. There was a deep infection and it was a problem, so the ladies organised that while in foster, he could have the pin removed and recoup before travel. He was with a super lady so he didn't mind. The pin was taken out and his travel was arranged.
Teddy Edward is a character and a half! If he gets in a grump like having his toenails clipped he can use his lovely newly cleaned gnashers to give you a nip..He loves his walks, he will always be wonky but if he slows down a little instead of taking off at a gallop his legs work pretty well. He is not ready for wheels yet by a long shot. He adores his snuggly bed and hides himself under the covers..just poking his nose out when something is going on. Tennise balls are his weakness he jumps up and down at the very sight of one. He scoffs his food so fast he stops breathing so he hated us when we bought him a slow feeder he's got the hang of it now. All in all this little man is a darling and we are blessed to have him here with us.
